The Neighborhood Church

Pastor Yancey is a local of Southern California having grown up in Orange County.  He came to know the Lord at the tender age of 5 during a kindergarten Sunday School class.  During his journey to becoming a Pastor, he rededicated his life to the Lord while in college.  He is married to the love of his life, Jill, and they have been blessed with three children: Ciara, Beth, and Yancey Jr.  While balancing family life, Pastor Yancey manages to sneak in such hobbies as coaching & playing basketball, listening to Jazz, backpacking, and playing his saxophone (of course, not at the same time).  To keep up with all this activity, he relies on a good Venti Java Chip Frappuccino with no whip cream.

Not to be outdone, Jill has a wonderful testimony of her life.  She rededicated her life to the Lord on Mother’s Day 1992 and has not looked back since.  While raising a family, she still finds the time to read, explore her musical gifts, play cards with her family, and simply hang out with friends.  Slightly more diverse than Pastor Yancey when it comes to Starbucks, she is seasonal in her preference for a Pumpkin Spice Latte, satisfying her yearly craving with a good Carmel Macchiato Latte.

Pastor Yancey has been a licensed minister during his years as a Senior Pastor.  Before coming to us, he and Jill pastored an Assemblies of God multi-campus church with locations in Prather and Tollhouse, CA.  He has a depth of experience having ministered in worship, music, and youth. He has a Bachelors Degree from Berklee College of Music and has continued his studies in Bible and Theology through the Assemblies of God Global University.  Jill partners in ministry with Pastor Yancey and has her ministerial credential with the Assemblies of God after completing her studies through Berean School of the Bible.  The Lord has opened many doors for Jill to minister on National Women’s Ministries Days throughout the years, encapsulating her love for preaching and teaching.  She has gone on to speak at a variety of retreats, meetings, and the occasional Sunday morning.

Both Pastor Yancey and Jill are excited about this next season for the Neighborhood Church.  Pastor Yancey looks to the expectation of seeing God show up each and every Sunday, moving in the lives of His people throughout the week and making each of our impossibilities, possible.  Coupled with this is Jill’s excitement to partner with people who are passionate to grow in their relationship with the Lord and share the gospel with the surrounding community.
